Custom & Special Cylinders

Not every requirement lands in a catalogue series. This page is for cylinders built to a drawing or a sample: non-standard mounting, bore and stroke combinations outside the listed ranges, alternative materials, and port arrangements that differ from the standard build.

We deliberately do not list custom products with specification tables. A custom cylinder has no fixed parameter set to publish — inventing ranges for a page would be worse than admitting the range is open.

What we need to quote is the drawing, or the failed part plus its working conditions: pressure, duty cycle, environment and mounting. With those, the answer is a design proposal rather than the nearest catalogue number.

Cylinder drawing with the seven hard dimensions numbered
Custom work starts with measurement, not with a part number. These are the seven dimensions that have to be recorded before a drawing can be issued.

How custom work is quoted

Custom cylinders are quoted from a drawing or a sample, so there is no model table to publish here. The selection points below describe what we need in order to quote.

How to choose within this section

Send the drawing, or the part
A dimensioned drawing is the fastest route. Where none exists, the failed cylinder plus its measured bore, rod and stroke gives us the starting point.
State the duty cycle, not just the pressure
Cycles per hour and expected life change the seal system and rod treatment more than peak pressure does.
Say what failed
Rod corrosion, seal leakage and bent rods have different causes. Knowing which one happened is what stops the replacement failing the same way.

Not sure which series fits your equipment?

Send the mounting envelope, the load and the stroke you need. We will tell you which series it lands in and why, before you commit to a design.
